This is a rare vintage Ideal African American Beauty Braider Velvet 16” doll from the 1969, from the Crissy family, with hair that grows.
She
is unused and in excellent condition, and still has the original plastic wrap around her hair.
She is wearing her original outfit including her shoes, which is a white and lavender
floral dress
with a lavender sash plus matching shorts.
She is in excellent vintage condition with no playwear, and her face is beautiful with good color on her lips and cheeks, and has sleep eyes with full, thick lashes that open and close properly.  Her arms will hold a pose at all levels.  Shoes are new with no wear on the bottom.  Her dress has some age spots, and the bow on the back has some age fading (please see photos).  Marked on the back of her head 13 EYE 72 c1969 IDEAL TOY CORP. 3H-15-H-15F HONG KONG.  I tried to take off her dress to photograph her body, but the snaps are vintage and didn't want to come apart and I didn't want to risk damaging them, so did not remove it.  This doll has been in storage for decades.
