Description
Reduce internal temperatures of your Tandberg 3001 / 3001A / 3011 tuner while improving visibility of the display. Extend the life of your tuner - prevent cooking of the internal components. Yes original bulbs cause a lot of heat stress on the boards which causes solder joints to fail along with drying out of capacitors. Heat cycling is the major contributor to solder joint failure but also reduces the life of all components inside the tuner.Boards are populated with 22 high quality LEDS and Molex connectors . Just pull out the original bulb board and replace it with LED board.
The LED board consumes about 100mA of current or about 0.5W power while being slightly brighter than the original bulbs. These run cold to the touch.
In comparison the original bulbs consume about 1100mA , that's about 5.5W and generate significant heat inside the tuner.

Do I need to wire in any power to this board.

No just remove the old bulb board and the LED board plugs in the same place

What happens when 1 Led burns out ?

In such an unlikely event the 1 Led will stop to produce light the remaining groups of LEds will still light up . There are 11 groups total and all are independent .

can the LEDs be replaced ?

yes the LEDs are in current production made by company CREE . I keep large stock of these as well. Large distributors carry inventory of these include Mouser and Digikey.

I bought 4 new bulbs but they don't light up after replacing the old bulbs . Will this fix the issue .

No this will not fix your issue as you have a power delivery issue on one or more of the connections. The issues need s to be resolved before the LED board can work. The solution will require disassembly of the tuner and re soldering of bad joints.
