    Sebring Pottery Ohio Fort Amsterdam Native Americans Yellow Transferware Plate
    Rare yellow earthenware plate. Decorated with a red transferware scene depicting Fort Amsterdam, Manhattan Island. Based on a depiction by Joost Hartgers, circa 1626 to 1628, depicting interaction between Native tribes and Dutch traders.  Marked on the reverse The Early American Underglaze by The Sebring Pottery Co Sebring Ohio. Circa 1887 to 1930s. I have not been able to find another example of a Sebring plate with this scene.
    Has crazing typical of earthenware, and a tight crack extending off the edge. No additional chips or cracks.
    Measures approximately 9 1/8 inches wide.
    This an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
